About this opportunity
Film Independent runs two documentary labs: a Story Lab for directors and a Producing Lab for producers. Each selects six fellows for intensive mentorship and development with established documentary professionals. The Story Lab focuses on late-production/early post-production with workshops, one-on-one mentoring from Creative and Editing Advisors, and a pitch event. The Producing Lab includes professional coaching, case studies with experienced producers, and networking opportunities.

Talents Durban supports emerging African and Caribbean film professionals through mentorship, masterclasses, and industry access during the Durban FilmMart, Africa's premier film finance and co-production market. The programme culminates in full participation at the Durban FilmMart, providing a launchpad for early-career filmmakers to connect with the continent's growing film industry ecosystem.
